James 3:16
King James Version
16 For where envying and strife is,
there is confusion and every evil work.
Do you know who CHRIST's enemy is?
Well, get to know him here.
Do so, otherwise you won't know what keeps hitting you.
And do you know what this enemy STANDS for?
The stuff he represents, and gloats about?
Today the HOLY SPIRIT led me to it.
We summarize it as PEV:
PRIDE
ENVY
VANITY
Isn't that what the world's got, too?
Isn't that which drives people nuts, as well?
The kind that digs deep into their soul.
The kind that causes one to sin, and disobey GOD.
Well, you know the source of PEV.
He's the most delusional creature of all.
And if you don't believe me, listen to what the Bible says he boasts about here:
Isaiah 14:12-14 King James Version
12 How art thou fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart,
I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,
in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will be like the most High.
Now, ain't that something?
Wanting GOD's throne, and all that.
Destroying everything GOD loves.
Being so jealous of JESUS, the SON of GOD.
Making sure the LORD ends up on the CROSS.
And not realizing the LORD's death became the enemy's downfall.
Hebrews 2:14 King James Version
14 Forasmuch then as the children
are partakers of flesh and blood,
he also himself likewise took part of the same;
that through death he might destroy him
that had the power of death,
that is, the devil;
Can you now imagine the enemy's rage?
He's mighty cross about the CROSS.
Oh, but no, he'll keep going.
Until GOD sends him to that fiery pit forever.
That's what PEV does.
PRIDE makes you think you're the best, the most.
ENVY makes you want what others have.
VANITY makes you enthralled in your own beauty, or worth.
But these are all delusional.
There will always be someone better, smarter, wealthier, and more beautiful than you.
At least, by the world's standards.
But if you're a watchman, workman, and warrior for CHRIST, those things don't matter at all.
We follow the LORD JESUS.
We obey His commands.
We are at His service.
JESUS is All That Matters.
The pursuit of pride, envy, beauty, wealth, and glory are not in our spiritual makeup.
We serve the LORD JESUS CHRIST alone.
And everything is for GOD's GLORY alone.
We live by the Bible, every single day.
JESUS is our strength.
He is our PEACE.
He is our hope.
He is our eternity.
