2 Timothy 3:1-5

that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves,
covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers,
false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded,
lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness,
but denying the power thereof:
from such turn away.
It takes quite a leader.
To handle pressure from all sides.
To handle dissent, betrayal, and unpopularity.
To handle being replaced briefly by another leader.
And yet, Benjamin Netanyahu seems to have survived it yet.
On 29 March 2023, we wrote about the political chaos in Israel.
There was also civil unrest.
Worse?
There was unrest in the air force.
That's when I knew Israel would be in trouble.
With inside bickering, and betrayals, how will your "house" be?
It will be torn from within, open to attack, and may crumble.
And then October 7 happened.
That was one of the most painful periods for Israel.
And one of the most testing moments for Netanyahu.
How to defend her land?
How to retrieve his people?
How to tend to the wounded?
How to bury all the dead?
How to appease his people?
How to recover from the pain?
How to keep your government one?
When disaster strikes, shock takes place.
Then reality sets in, and someone must lead.
When October 7 happened, Israel had to unite herself.
And when she defended herself in Gaza, she was criticized.
There was the unfair exchange of hostages, several times.
How the enemy knew Israel's love for her people.
And used it to his great advantage.
To this day, there are still 101 hostages.
Whose fate alone remains in GOD's hands.
By the LORD's mercy, they shall be returned.
But at what state, their minds, hearts, and bodies?
It's been nearly a year of agonizing wait for the families.
Can you imagine what's happening to the hostages?
Can you put yourself in such a place?
Can you imagine both their pain?
Can you imagine their fears?
And yet, the whole world paints Israel as aggressor.
But that lie was prophesied in Scripture:
Isaiah 5:20

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;
that put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
All these press upon Netanyahu's mind.
He is leader of a nation so unloved by the world.
He acts to defend the south, and the north.
With most nations ganging up on him.
They sure never tire of bullying tiny Israel.
And yet the UN castigates Netanyahu.
One agency called him a war criminal, and all that.
They take away his country's right to defend herself.
Obviously, the spirit that is in the world wants Israel destroyed.
So, imagine a leader facing these --
Attacked from within.
Attacked from without.
Criticized on every issue.
Surely, threats to his life.
Even his personal life is attacked.
With reports of marriages, and affairs.
That is a matter between him, and the LORD.
There is no peace at home.
No peace in the land.
No peace from your neighbors.
The only solution?
Peace from WITHIN.
With a sterling spirit before the LORD, can you imagine what GOD would make him do?
I do not envy the prime minister.
It takes a certain strength to be in his position.
It surely takes courage, which he has.
It also takes anointing from GOD.
He was besieged.
He was replaced.
He got back in place.
All in time for the siege that was to be.
Which continues to this day.
Any lesser prime minister may not have made it.
Despite their delusion they could do a better job than Netanyahu.
I assure you, no one would want to be in his place.
It is always a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" thing.
So, he just "does".
And endures all the attacks on his country, and his person.
With his very own people rumbling against him.
Can you handle that, and survive?
Can you handle the attacks on your nation, and keep going?
You need to have a strong, and sound mind.
An unbreakable mind.
You need GOD.
What they forget is he was a soldier first.
Netanyahu was trained for hardship.
He knows the winds, and whims, of war.
He knows the way of the soldier.
He knows the way of the enemy.
He wrote a book on "fighting terrorism".
It was a slim paperback I bought once.
About 15 years ago.
Which I can't seem to read.
It felt too technical.
The letters were tiny.
My mind tinier.
I wasn't ready for such a book.
But the world should, now.
He's a veteran at countering terrorism.
That book was written in 1995.
He comes from a family of soldiers.
His late brother, Yonatan, was commander of a raid.
And sole casualty at the raid in Entebbe in 1976.
Sure, he's also a politician.
And only GOD knows his heart.
Israel's military men are now coordinated.
Intelligence-gathering ever greater.
Political enemies got momentarily quiet.
Save for the occasional rabble-rousing.
But the demands of the nation come first.
The very survival of Israel is at stake.
Now is not the time to upend each other at Knesset.
Now is the time to support the prime minister.
Remember that old saying;
"United we stand; divided we fall."
May Israel be of one heart, of one mind, of one spirit.
May they be of ONE GOD.
May they look to their sins, and repent.
2 Chronicles 7:14

14 If my people,
which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray,
and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.
May they look to JESUS, for strength, peace, joy, and clarity.
John 15:5

5 I am the vine,
ye are the branches:
He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing.
The nation is unified in desiring to bring their people home.
Desiring to be returned to their homes in the north.
Desiring to rebuild their lives in the south.
By GOD's GRACE, it shall be so.
With Netanyahu at the helm, it may be so.
Now is not the time to repeat 26 March 2023.
Consider the latest defense move Israel did.
Of course, her perpetual enemies call it "offense".
Isn't there a thin line between that?
Who attacked first in 7 October?
Who continues to bombard Israel?
Who has the hostages?
When will they release them?
If at all?
What would you do if you were faced with a HUGE web of enemies?
With real threats of build-up, intending to destroy your nation?
Who kept at you, bombarding you, night and day?
Who gave your citizens no peace?
Who ganged up with the other gangs?
Who swore to annihilate you?
Who persecute you everywhere in the world?
Who doesn't release the hostages?
What would you do?
What would a "David" do?
Now you can imagine the task before Netanyahu.
Besieged on ALL sides.
Unloved on all fronts.
Criticized for every move.
Would you want to be in his place?
So when I read of leaders flirting with gender issues, bickering among themselves, or leading sybaritic lives, I think of JESUS.
What the LORD went through, and did for us.
Now, I think of Netanyahu, what he faces each day.
May the world's leaders amount to something noble.
PEACE, for one.
But find comfort in this:
GOD loves Israel.
She will not be annihilated.
You can try.
But you won't succeed.
Read these, and know:
"God's Unbending LOVE for ISRAEL"
In the process, you will know you are loved, too!
Did you really think GOD's love was for Jews alone?
He loves both Jew, and Gentile.
We are all ONE in CHRIST.
